How to Rescue Bad Maps

If a map becomes corrupted, you may be able to rescue it --

* Make a new map

* Copy and paste from the old map to the new. Work in sections, and compile the new map between sections. Start with the hull, make sure you've got a leak-proof world. Work your way towards the more complex stuff.

* Make backup copies at intervals as you go, using a numbering scheme like "map01", "map02" etc. so you can roll back to previous simpler versions if things go bad.

Don't give up -- there's work ahead, but it's doable.
