Passable Brushes

Various entities can be used to create a brush that is both visible and passable. (Players can see the brush, and walk through it.)

  • func_illusionary - not the best solution ... it has strange properties (makes splashing-water sound, etc.)
  • func_door - better solution:
    • set the "passable" flag checkmark
    • give the door a name (so player touch doesn't open door)
    • don't trigger the door (so it never opens ... all we need is a visible, passable brush)
  • func_train and various other entities - similar to func_door:
    set the "passable" checkmark, don't activate train motion
 

Uses for Passable Brushes

Shrubs and other small plants - set rendering to Texture/255, and apply an appropriate shrub texture.
