Difficulty Level

This is how to determine the difficulty that someone is playing your level on and so make it harder (e.g. put more enemies in the harder they are playing).

It is best to do this on every level or you may have problems if they skip some.

First put a grunt set to trigger "diffrelay1" on death in a room with a trigger_hurt set to 30 damage around it.

Make 3 trigger_auto entities ...

  • one targeting "diffchange1" with a delay of 2
  • one targeting "diffchange2" with a delay of 3
  • one targeting "diffchange3" with a delay of 4

Make three trigger_changetarget entities with the names above, all targeting "diffrelay1" and all changing the relay's target to "diffis_n" (where 'n' is the trigger change targets number).

Now make the trigger_relay called "diffrelay1" and set its delay before trigger to 0.5

HOW IT WORKS:

When the grunt dies, the amount of time it survived determines what difficulty level they are on. The final output ("diffis_n") is their level and can be used to trigger different things.
